Become a Core Friend

Core believes that everybody should have a decent quality of life and be able to do the normal things people enjoy even while suffering from a digestive disorder. At any age, gut problems make it hard to socialise freely, damage careers and family life, and ruin enjoyment of retirement.

We offer support and information as well as funding quality research into a range of the most common digestive disorders.

In order for this important work to continue, please consider supporting us by becoming a Core Friend

By becoming a Core Friend you will ensure that the charity continues to:

•    research and find effective treatments and cures for digestive disorders, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), pancreatitis, and cancers of the gut and liver

•    offer information to those living with digestive disorders

•    promotes public education into prevention of diseases of the gut and liver, and a better understanding of these diseases

By becoming a Core Friend you will be providing thousands of people who suffer from digestive diseases the opportunity to enjoy a better quality of life and you will be helping to save lives, as in the example below.

Core has agreed to raise funds to cover the costs of an experienced technician and materials for a project entitled The Development of a Tissue Engineered Intestinal Pouch being undertaken by Dr Tahera Ansari at the Northwick Park Institute for Medical Research, Harrow. This award has been made as part of our ‘small grants’ programme, which has been designed to enable researchers to lever funds from other sources to obtain further funding. With a relatively small amount, we are able to help experienced researchers look into previously under-funded areas and put an application towards a larger grant making body. This research is offering a highly unique way to create a ‘pouch’ and is likely to lead to clinical trials.
