£1,000 essay prize for the best dissertation on personally undertaken research in an area relevant to gastroenterology by a medical student on a BSc or MRes course during 2007/08. The prize will be awarded at the British Society of Gastroenterology Scientific Meeting in March 2009 and the winner will be encouraged to submit a poster of their work to the Society. £1,000 bursaries are available for six medical students taking a full-time science degree (BSc/MRes/MBPhD) in an area relevant to gastroenterology in 2009/10. Bursaries will be awarded once the successful applicant’s place on the course has been confirmed.
