  Getting to the Core of corporate involvement A relationship with Core has always been fundamental to Yakult in helping build and develop understanding about the importance of good digestive health.
Yakult continually invests in digestive health research, through our own research centres and collaborative projects with UK clinicians and scientists, and also via our sponsorship schemes, supporting healthcare professionals in relevant fields. This is why we so applaud the diverse projects funded and facilitated by Core in order to investigate various aspects of digestive health and illness
Core were instrumental in helping create the Gut Week awareness campaign. Now in its tenth year, messages about digestive health have reached over 300 million people with 110,000 accessing further information.
Such is the strength of the relationship, Yakult were delighted to help Core raise much needed funds, by supporting ‘An evening with Alan Bennett’. Yakult sponsored the evening, where guests were entertained with readings by the renowned playwright at the Royal College of Physicians. The evening raised £25,000 for Core’s Research Fund, allowing vital work to be undertaken.
But we also encourage staff to become involved on a personal level. In May 2008, PR Manager Judith Mann and her fiancé joined 33 other Core supporters in a 20km walk across the South Downs. Combined they raised more than £8,000 but it also showed that corporate involvement does not need to rest with the chequebook.
